Officials said the film crew had already been camping in Sonamarg where the Bollywood king will shoot a sequence for a song being choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.
The officials at the Sonamarg Development Authority said the arrival of Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan will bring economic benefits to the region.
"It will also put Kashmir on the global map of tourism," the SDA officials said.
The film director Rajkumar Hirani and his production team had visited the resort last week and had finalized the arrangements for the shooting of a song for the movie which also stars Taapsee Pannu in the lead, sources said.
The shooting of the song is being picturized at the famous Thajwas glacier in the backdrop of the snow-clad mountains of Sonmarg.
Extraordinary security arrangements have been made for the arrival of Shah Rukh Khan in Sonamarg.
The local people said that the interest of filmmakers in the tourist places of the valley will not only boost the tourism sector but the local people are also expected to get employment.
As the situation returns to normal in Kashmir, Bollywood and Tollywood actors are returning to shoot at different tourist spots.
In Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan will portray the role of an army officer.
A source close to the Times of India said that the actor is super “excited to wear the uniform again."
