Warner Bros. Discovery unveils Air India Flight 171 Crash: Declassified, a documentary on Air India plane crash
Warner Bros. Discovery is all set to bring Air India Flight 171 Crash: Declassified, a hard-hitting investigative special that examines the tragic crash of Air India Flight 171.

Set against the broader context of previous Boeing incidents and whistleblower accounts, the special documentary explores what Flight 171 may reveal about systemic aviation safety lapses.
It is slated to premiere on August 4, 2025 at 9 pm, only on Discovery Channel and discovery+.
This Warner Bros. Discovery exclusive is a full-length documentary on the catastrophic event that has reignited global concerns about aviation safety. The one-hour investigative feature brings together eyewitness footage and aviation experts to reconstruct the final moments of the flight.
Through an in-depth analysis and 3D visualizations, it explores early findings, such as possible issues with engine thrust, landing gear retraction, and fuel cut-off systems.
Sai Abishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids, South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said, "The documentary presents a clear and balanced look at the crash, focusing on what is currently known and the possible factors that may have contributed to it. It draws from the preliminary report analysing the key findings in detail.
"The film also delves into the broader questions surrounding aircraft safety, manufacturing practices, and regulatory oversight. Through expert insights, survivor accounts, and documented incidents, we hope to offer a grounded perspective on the concerns raised around Boeing in recent years."
The Discovery exclusive, Air India Flight 171 Crash: Declassified, features expert voices including former FAA regulators, ex-Boeing employees and global aviation safety specialists, alongside interviews with family members of the victims.
The documentary, produced with leading UK producer Emporium Productions and co-financed and distributed by Silverlining Rights is a compelling addition to Warner Bros. Discovery’s reputation for bold, socially relevant storytelling.
