Assamese athlete Prateek Talukdar makes history as first Indian to earn IFBB Pro Card in Europe
Guwahati/IBNS: Prateek Talukdar, an Assamese athlete, made history by becoming the first Indian to win the prestigious International Fitness and Bodybuilding (IFBB) Federation Pro Card in Europe, reported Guwahati Plus.

Prateek took to his Instagram account to share the news, expressing his joy and gratitude. He wrote, "I did it… Har Har Mahadev. The first ever Indian to win an IFBB Pro Card in Europe… Proud moment for India and my motherland Assam." He also took the opportunity to acknowledge his mentor, coach, and family members who supported him throughout his journey.
The International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) is the governing body for the sport of Bodybuilding and Fitness, established in 1946 in Montreal, Canada.
Each year, the IFBB organizes over 2,500 competitions at various levels, including Local, National, Regional, Continental, and World Championships.
These competitions encompass different disciplines in the field of bodybuilding, with separate divisions for juniors, seniors, and masters.
Some notable IFBB contests include the IFBB Men’s World Bodybuilding Championships, the IFBB Men's World Classic Bodybuilding Championships, the IFBB Men's World Physique Championships, the IFBB World Fitness Championships, and the Arnold Classic.
Prateek Talukdar's achievement not only brings pride to India but also shines a spotlight on the talent and dedication of athletes from the northeastern state of Assam.
