Former South African cricketer Lance Klusener set to join Tripura Cricket Association for 100 days
Agartala/Tripura: Former South African cricket all-rounder Lance Klusener, renowned for his explosive batting skills, is poised to sign a contract with the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) for a period of 100 days, according to Timir Chanda, the Vice President of the TCA.
Klusener's role will encompass sharing his invaluable insights with the younger teams and assisting the state's Ranji Trophy team in honing their cricketing abilities.
Chanda stated, "Lance Klusener is a globally recognized former international cricketer, and he has shown a keen interest in collaborating with the Tripura Cricket Association. We released an official advertisement on our website inviting applications from coaches with national and international backgrounds, and Klusener was among the respondents."
"We are currently finalizing the details of the contract, and if all goes well, he will be joining the TCA for a period of 100 days. We are immensely grateful that he has expressed his willingness to share his ideas and expertise with our budding state teams."
In addition to Klusener's involvement, the TCA has embarked on an ambitious mission to organize a record-breaking 500 domestic matches within the state of Tripura. Chanda expressed, "This will be a historic milestone for cricket in Tripura as we strive to conduct a total of 500 domestic matches."
"We have already successfully organized 450 matches, and we anticipate surpassing the 500 mark by the end of this year. Furthermore, we are currently conducting open selection trials across the state to identify and nurture raw talent among batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders."
With Klusener's imminent association and the TCA's commitment to fostering cricketing excellence, Tripura is poised to witness a significant boost in cricketing development, both at the grassroots level and within the professional arena.
