Pant, who suffered the injury on Wednesday, will bat as per the team's requirements.

He will be replaced by Dhruv Jurel as the wicketkeeper on the field in Manchester.

The BCCI posted on X, "Rishabh Pant, who sustained an injury to his right foot on Day 1 of the Manchester Test, will not be performing wicket-keeping duties for the remainder of the match. Dhruv Jurel will assume the role of wicket-keeper.

"Despite his injury, Rishabh Pant has joined the team on Day 2 and will be available to bat as per team requirements."

On day one of the match, the flamboyant cricketer suffered the foot injury when he took a wild risk of reverse sweeping Chris Woakes while batting at 37 off 48 balls.

Pant left the field in a vehicle visibly suffering from pain.

England are leading the five-match series 2-1.
