IPL 2025: Priyansh Arya's ton powers Punjab Kings to 18-run win over Chennai Super Kings
Chandigarh/IBNS: Young batter Priyansh Arya's century, which is one of the fastest in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL), powered Punjab Kings to clinch an 18-run win over Chennai Super Kings at Mullanpur in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Priyansh, 24, slammed the fastest century against CSK as he completed 100 runs in only 39 balls, leaving his franchise co-owner, actress Preity Zinta, to jump from her seat to celebrate the southpaw's achievement.
Priyansh amassed 103 from 42 balls with the backing of 7 fours and 9 sixes to almost single-handedly steer PBKS to 219-6 in 20 overs as the 24-year-old kept on losing his partners from the other end at regular intervals.

On a day PBKS suffered a complete middle-order batting collapse, Shashank Singh (52 from 36 balls) and Marco Jansen (34 from 19 balls) stitched an unbeaten 65-run partnership for the seventh wicket after Priyansh was sent back to the dugout by Noor Ahmed.
Kiwi batters Devon Conway (69 from 49 balls) and Rachin Ravindra (36 from 23 balls) powered CSK to an appropriate start followed by Shivam Dube, who slammed 42 from 27 balls.
After Dube was bowled out by Lockie Ferguson (2/40), CSK veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni treated his fans with his vintage shots keeping beleaguered CSK's hopes alive.
As Dhoni, who hit 1 four and 3 sixes to slam 27 from 12 balls, was dismissed by Yash Thakur in the final over to the relief of PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer, the hosts had almost bagged two more points from the eventful evening.
CSK ended their innings at 201-5 in 20 overs.
