Paris Olympics: Mirabai Chanu finishes 4th in 49kg women's weightlifting, misses bronze
Paris/IBNS: In more heartbreaking news for India in this Olympic campaign, Mirabai Chanu finished at the fourth place in the 49kg Women’s Weightlifting event at the Paris Olympics.

The Tokyo Olympics Silver medallist started with an 85kg lift in the snatch round.
She went on to record 88kg and 111kg with her Clean-and-Jerk to put up a whopping total of 199kg that could only power her to a 4th place finish, falling a mere kg short of a Bronze medal finish.
China's Hou Zhihui has clinched the gold medal with a Games record of 117kg. She successfully lifted 206kg in her final attempt in the clean and jerk to beat Romania's Mihaela Cambei, who will take a silver medal with 205kg.
Thailand's Surodchana Khambao took the third position with 200kg.
Vinesh Phogat was earlier disqualified from the women's 50kg wrestling final at the Paris Olympics 2024 for being 100 grams overweight than the permissible limit in a Gold Medal match.
A statement issued by the Indian Olympic contingent said that Phogat had tipped the scales above the 50 kg mark and was disqualified.
Vinesh has decided to file an appeal in the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the decision. She has asked for the Olympic silver to be given to her.
