Shubman Gill is likely to be named as India's vice captain in Asia Cup squad
Shubman Gill recently showcased his captaincy capabilities by successfully leading his side in England in the five-match Test series, and now he can get a promotion in the T20 squad.

According to RevSportz, Gill is likely to be named as skipper Suryakumar Yadav's deputy in the Asia Cup squad.
Gill will mark a return to the T20 squad with the major Asian cricket tournament.
Gill's last T20 appearance was in the series against Sri Lanka in 2024.
There is a growing consensus that Gill, who is also India’s ODI vice-captain, will eventually become India’s ODI captain in the coming years and is likely to lead the side in the 2027 ODI World Cup, to be played in South Africa, reported Rev Sportz.
With Rohit Sharma still playing the ODI format and leading the national side, his next assignment will be the white-ball tour of Australia in October-November.
A media report, however, claimed the series might be his last tour for India.
Team management sources told Dainik Jagran that Rohit and Virat Kohli will not fit into the strategy for the upcoming ODI World Cup.
The source said: "If he wants, he can end his international career as captain in the Australia tour. Both these players will have a golden opportunity to end their international career together while playing on the field."
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the Asia Cup from September 9 to September 28.
India has been placed in Group A with Pakistan, Oman and hosts the UAE.
Group B is comprised of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
