33rd Industries & Commerce fair inaugurated
The 15-days long 33rd Industries and Commerce fair at Hapania international fair ground at Agartala has been inaugurated on Saturday evening by the OBC Welfare Minister Ram Prasad Paul.
Inaugurating the fair Minister Paul said that the industries and commerce fair motivates people for self-reliance and by organizing such fairs, the present government is improving the life-styles.
He also said that earlier, the previous government had organized such fairs only to follow the system, but nowadays such fairs are generating employment opportunities.
Highlighting the significance of industries and commerce fair, Ram Prasad Paul said that the present government with aim to socio-economic development all sections of society are moving towards making the state as the best state of the country.
The industrialists and entrepreneurs without any fear and with a pro-business environment are now setting up and expanding their businesses across the state and government with a pro-industry attitude are also expanding co-operation towards the business communities, said Paul. He said that the number of MSME industries has increased in the state.
Speaking in the programme, the chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Tinku Roy said that during the four and half years tenure of the present government many industries were revived and they are now flourishing. He said that at present the state has 28 CNG stations and pipe gas connections are being given to 60,000 houses of the state . Most modern and sophisticated rice mills of the entire Northeast region are now functioning in the North Tripura district, said Roy and added that through 100 small units, Tripura are also selling incense sticks through packets.
During the inauguration programme, MLA Mimi Majumder, special secretary of Industries and Commerce department, Abhishek Chandra, chairman of Tripura Tea Development Corporation (TTDC), Santosh Saha and other dignitaries were also present.
