Central leaders to discuss poll preparedness in Tripura, CM meets B L Santosh
As BJP central leadership has convened a meeting of its senior leaders of poll-bound Tripura in Delhi on December 11, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha , who left the state has on Sunday met with BJP’s national General Secretary B L Santosh in New Delhi.
Sources said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president J P Nadda will hold the strategic meeting for poll preparedness in Tripura on December 11 will be discussed with state Chief Minister , Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb in presence of party’s state president Rajib Bhattacharjee.
BJP’s state election in-charge Mahendra Singh and other leaders looking the organisational activities of the party will also participate in the meeting. Sources added that the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Agartala on December 18 next would also be discussed.
Earlier, J P Nadda had held a meeting with Rajib Bhattacharjee and discussed the party's poll preparedness for the Assembly election besides organisational matters.
Meanwhile, ruling BJP has made Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha as the Chairman of the Election Campaign Committee , indicating that Dr Manik Saha will be the face of the party in upcoming elections.
The party president Rajib Bhattacharjee has been made the chairman of another important committee, the Election Management Committee. In addition to this, the party has constituted 28 other committees to look after different activities including management of tour programs of national leaders, political programmes, vehicle management, accommodation, new voters’ enrolment etc. Union Minister of state, Smt. Pratima Bhowmik has been made chairman of the Political Program Management Committee and Dr Ashok Sinha will be the head of the manifesto committee.
In the 11-member Election Campaign Committee are Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Ex-CM and MP Biplab Kumar Deb, union Minister of state, Pratima Bhowmik, Ratan Lal Nath, Rebati Tripura, Bhagaban Das, Kalyani Roy, Pranajit Singha Roy and Ram Prasad Paul.
Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath has been made convenor of the state president headed Election Management Committee where there are six co-convenors Ram Pada Jamatia, Tinku Roy, Papia Datta, Kishor Barman, Amit Rakshit and Sudhangshu Das.
Sources added that on Monday, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha will leave for Ahmedabad to attend the swearing in ceremony for Gujarat Chief Minister.
