AICC leader met CPI (M) top leaders to finalize poll alliance
Amidst assurance of top leaders of both parties including CPI (M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury and AICC’s general secretary Mukul Wasnik, the AICC in-charge for Tripura Dr Ajoy Kumar on Friday visited CPI (M) headquarters and met top leaders of the party.
After the meeting, CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury speaking with media persons said that the people of the want to oust ‘autocratic’ BJP government from Tripura and the possible alliance of Left parties with Congress is not a demand for both parties, it’s a demand of the people of the state.

After the crucial one day state committee meeting of CPI (M) on January 10th, party’s general secretary Sitaram Yechury said that party’s first priority is to liberate Tripura from ‘reign of terror’ and restore democracy in the state and they are ready to make seat adjustments with Congress and Tipra-Motha.
Jitendra Chowdhury said that the state committee of Tripura finalized the seat adjustment with both these parties to ensure the defeat of BJP in coming assembly elections, but in the present situation seat adjustment is not a big thing and both parties have discussed the political strategies with open mind.
He said that defeating the ruling BJP in the forthcoming assembly elections in Tripura is the principal target of their party and for this, formation of an alternative secular and democratic front is necessary. Chowdhury also appealed to other like minded parties to come forward and to participate in their discussion openly to finalize poll strategies to ensure defeat of BJP.
AICC in-charge of Tripura ,Dr Ajoy Kumar speaking with media persons said that considering five years old politics of violence sponsored by ruling BJP, its very necessary to ensure the defeat of BJP in coming assembly election to protect rights of state’s people.
Highlighting different incidents of political violence and killing of old party workers, Dr Kumar said that a committee has been formed for seat adjustment and they will finalize the seat sharing pattern.
He also said that invitations have been sent to other like minded parties including Tipra-Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma to join their greater alliance to ensure the defeat of BJP and to make a violence free Tripura.
