CEO reviews poll preparation in East Tripura, assured peaceful, free and fair voting
Large number of security forces have already deployed across the state to develop the confidence building measure among general voters and the Commission will also ensure every voter of the state that they will cast their vote only themselves, said Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura.
While, in order to ensure free and fair voting and to review the poll preparedness for East Tripura parliamentary constituency, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura, Puneet Agarwal on Saturday attended a series of meetings with poll officials and visited many strong rooms of the constituency.
After chaired a review meeting at Khowai along with State Police Nodal Officer, ADG GS Rao, DM of Khowai district, Chandni Chandan, SP, Ramesh Yadav and all AROs, CEO said that all preparation for peaceful voting has been completed and all process are also going as per system and schedules.
He said that a large number of Central Arms Police Forces (CAPFs) have already been deployed across the constituency and forces are regularly conducting flag marches and area domination exercises to boost up confidence among the general voters of the state.
Agarwal assured all the voters that they will cast their vote without any fear and obstruction and if any voters face such kind obstruction during the voting process, they should contact their nearest poll authorities and Commission will ensure their voting rights.
Agarwal said that any kind of violence or mal-practices during the voting process would not be tolerated by the Commission. He said that the prohibitory orders have been imposed along the India-Bangladesh border, where vigil has been intensified to thwart any intrusion bid during the election process.
ECI urges all voters of the state that they should participate in the voting process largely in the greatest festival of democracy.
Giving details of the security preparations Agarwal said that along with 84 companies CAPFs, 5000 TSR personnel have also deployed across the state for poll related duties.
As per the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI), more than 350 Flying Squad Team (FST) and Static Surveillance Team(SST) are functional across the state and the poll panel has set up more than 1000 vehicle checking points and more than 100 permanent Nakas .
Thousands of flag marches by CAPF alone were conducted and security forces have already checked lakhs vehicles with collection of above crore of fine money.
The state police and other security forces have also seized different narcotic items, liquors and gambling articles etc and till date , police have also made over 12,000 preventive arrests.
Earlier, in the review meeting DM(Khowai) Chandni Chandan through a powerpoint presentation highlighted all the preparation of East Tripura PC, where voting would be conducted on April 26 in the second phase of 7 phases of Lok Sabha elections.
The CEO along with top poll officials have also visited three strong rooms at Teliamura under East Tripura seat and reviewed the security situations.
