Child drown in pond water at Khowai

In a tragic incident, a five years old drowned in a pond at Chama Basti village of Asharambari area under Champahawor police station of Khowai district on Sunday.

Soures said that the deceased child was identified as Subhranghsu Sarkar (5) went to a pond at his house and drowned in the water in absence of family members. When his parents and other family noticed the matter of his missing from the house, they started searching for him in all nearby houses.

But, after an hour-long search, they found his body floating in the pond water and immediately shifted him to Khowai hospital, where a visiting after necessary check-ups, declared him brought dead.

Later, after autopsy, the body of the child was handed over to his family members. His death has cast a shadow of deep grief and mourning in the entire village.
