City police arrested 2 chain snatchers, seized 30 stolen gold chains
Based on secret information, the Agartala city police on Tuesday managed to arrest two chain snatchers and recovered 30 gold chains, two ear rings and a stolen motorbike under their possessions.
Giving details, SP(West Tripura), Kiran Kumar said that two gold chain snatchers identified as Samir Miah and Baban Nandi of Bhati Abhoynagar area of Agartala were snatching gold chain from women moving in the streets of Agartala for past two months.
After reports of many incidents of chain snatching, the Agartala city police has formed a special team to nab these culprits and based on the secret information, the police personnel from NCC police station on Tuesday managed to arrest them, said SP.
He said that the police have recovered 30 stolen gold chains, two ear rings and a stolen motorbike (Glamour) under their possession. Both arrested chain snatchers under section 307 of BNS were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for interrogation to get details of the snatching network, said K Kumar.
