Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha made a sudden inspection of GB Pant Hospital on Monday and directed that all matters, including the problems faced by patients, be properly addressed.

Dr Saha, who is also the Health Minister of the state, said that GB Pant Hospital is the main hospital and that people from across Tripura come here.

"Due to this, the load of patients here is always high. Today I have come here to inspect the hospital to check whether there is any problem or not. I have taken information of the infrastructure, maintenance, availability of doctors, allied staff, and other facilities. Wherever it was necessary to restore or repair, I have directed the secretary and asked him to properly address all the matters, maintain all the facilities, and resolve the problems faced by patients. I will come again to recheck," he said.

Dr Saha said that he will sit and hold meetings with the Executive Engineers who are working for IGM and GB Pant to solve all the problems.

"We must ensure that all the problems are solved. We have inaugurated the Civil Hospital, and we are also planning to implement the same here in GB. We are thinking about it. The infrastructure of GB is strong, and if we want, we can do it. All departments will be inspected, and I will come again. We are also renovating the medicine ward," he added.

During the visit, Health Secretary Kiran Gitte and other Health Department officials were present.
