Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Tuesday said that politics cannot be practiced by provoking people on the basis of ethnicity and communalism, and that such politics is never desirable.

He said there have been several movements aimed at misleading or fooling people by raising demands such as Tipraland or Greater Tipraland.

“These misleading political activities are being carried out by using our innocent Janajati brothers and sisters. Our Prime Minister is working for the welfare of the people while keeping an eye on everything,” he said.

Dr Saha said this while addressing a public meeting organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party at Demdum in Fatikrai, Unakoti district on Tuesday. At the event, Dr. Saha welcomed 215 voters from 57 families.

He said that the present government is trying its best for the development of Kokborok and other minority languages.

“Our government is trying to run the state with transparency. The state government seeks the socio-economic development of people from all sections of society. We want to create a new Tripura with people from all sections of the state,” he said.

Dr Saha added, “I welcome all those who have joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at this meeting today. They have taken the right decision at the right time. I am truly impressed by the large number of Janajati brothers and sisters present at this public meeting. This strong presence reflects their support for the Bharatiya Janata Party and their trust and faith in our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Our government is working for the development of all, guided by the Prime Minister’s vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”

Dr Saha said that a strange situation is prevailing in Tripura.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed the nature of politics across India. Earlier, politics meant grabbing power, looting, and corruption. But the Prime Minister has demonstrated that the country can be governed without corruption scandals. Our Tripura government is also striving to run the state with transparency. We seek the socio-economic development of people from all sections and aim to empower the tribal communities,” he said.

Dr Saha further stated that PM Modi is steadily taking the country forward.

“In this budget as well, a substantial allocation has been made for the development of the Janajati community. This government is committed to ensuring respect for the Janajati people. We want their culture and traditions to remain intact,” he said.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also remarked, “Think about the state government we are running. How many ministers of the state government have gone abroad? Yet, they are traveling to foreign countries while running the ADC. Where do they get this money from? We do not even have the ability to travel abroad. Looting is taking place all around.”

Chief Minister Dr Saha reiterated that the state government is working to ensure transparent and good governance for all.

The meeting was attended by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, Scheduled Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, MLA Swapna Das Paul, BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, Unakoti District President Amalendu Das, Dhalai District President Pratiram Tripura, and other senior party leaders at the district and mandal levels.
