CM emphasizes development and harnessing natural resources for state’s progress
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha expressed his enthusiasm for the wave of development in the state and emphasized the efforts being made to harness its abundant natural resources.
In recognition of his contributions, the Tripura branch of the Indian Dental Association organized a felicitation ceremony, which was attended by the Chief Minister, the association's leadership, and its members. As a gesture of support, a generous donation of Rs. 1 lakh was made to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
During his speech, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha highlighted the noticeable advancements taking place in Tripura, resonating positively with the aspirations of its people.
“Where earlier the state had only one national highway, now there are six national highways in the state. The state has the third highest high-speed internet connection in the entire country. Similarly the state train services have improved. Earlier, people of the state used to think that these services are only for big cities when they go to other metropolitan cities of the country including Kolkata, Delhi, but now Tripura train services have improved like those states. About 12 express trains are now connected with Tripura”, said the CM.
The Chief Minister attributed these achievements to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underscoring the remarkable progress India has witnessed over the past nine years. He commended the Prime Minister's selfless approach to governance, referring to him as a servant leader, and expressed his commitment to following in his footsteps.
Dr Saha also highlighted the state's efforts to capitalize on its natural resources in order to promote development.
He mentioned the previously untapped potential of various bamboo species found in Tripura, which are now being utilized as key components in multiple industries. The state is also capitalizing on its abundant natural gas reserves, leading to further economic growth.
“With industries, including tea production, making substantial strides, Tripura's products are not only meeting the demands of different states within the country but are also being exported globally. The imminent opening of the Maitri Setu at Sabroom will establish Tripura as a pivotal trade hub within the Northeastern region”, the CM said.
Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted the remarkable progress of the education system in the state, positioning Tripura as an emerging educational hub. Reflecting on his emotional reunion with former colleagues, Dr Saha expressed a sense of returning home after an extended period.
