CM inaugurates an exhibition on sustainable development at Holy Cross School
Building a better future is possible through sustainable development. For this we want the collective efforts of all, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha while inaugurating an exhibition and competition titled 'Sustainable Development: An Effort Towards a Better Tomorrow' organized at Holy Cross school premises in Agartala on Wednesday.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister said, the main theme of G20 under the Presidency of India was 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' to remind us that we are part of one world, one family and one future. ‘Our ancient philosophy also reflects that the world is a family and interdependent together. The G-20 Summit focused on strong, sustainable, inclusive development and balanced growth issues that are ingrained in our thought and policies,’ said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister called upon everyone to resolve to create an environment conducive to sustainable, inclusive and ecological balance along with economic prosperity. The Chief Minister also said on the occasion that this type of initiative of Holy Cross School reflects the sense of responsibility and awareness of the educational institutions towards future generations. Around 15 schools in Agartala are participating in the Inter School Science and Humanities Exhibition and Competition.
Innovative topics presented in exhibition and competition will inspire the youth to develop their talents and skills. On the occasion, the Chief Minister urged everyone to come forward to build a healthy, balanced and inclusive future. Secretary of Holy Cross Education Foundation, Father George Jacob also spoke on the occasion. Principal of Holy Cross School, Father Jilson Tom gave the welcome address. Vice Principal of the school, Father Agi Paul delivered the vote of thanks. On the occasion of the programme, a wonderful cultural item was performed in the school premises.
