CM sanctions Rs. 50.65 Crore for infrastructure, welfare projects

In the run-up to the Durga Puja festival, Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha, realizing the importance of various works and in consultation with the state departments, has approved a total of Rs. 50.65 crore.
Dr Saha has given administrative and financial approval for a number of projects.
Rs. 12 crore has been approved for sanitation and solid waste management, safe drinking water, water drainage, road construction, maintenance of capital assets, conservation and development of water bodies, street lighting in newly created wards/Nagar Panchayats, provision of online services, construction of electric crematoriums, etc., in 14 municipalities and 6 Nagar Panchayats of the state.
Rs 9.37 crore has been approved for maintenance work of various types of fixed assets for the convenience of the public during the upcoming Durga Puja.
Rs 9.28 crore has been approved for the expeditious completion of various pre-approved construction works in six R&D divisions of the state, namely Teliamura, Amarpur, Kumarghat, Kanchanpur, Satchanda, and Shantirbazar.
In Agartala city, administrative approval and expenditure of Rs. 17.38 crore have been sanctioned for the development of Cantonment Road, covering the stretches from Durga Chowmuhani to Lake Chowmuhani, Lake Chowmuhani to Radhanagar, Buddha Mandir to Radhamadhav Unnayan Sangha, and Pragati School to Buddha Mandir.
“On the occasion of the upcoming Durga Puja festival, a total of Rs. 2,310 each has been sanctioned as a festival grant for 11,150 cook-cum-helper workers working under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Scheme (School MDM), and a total of Rs. 2.58 crore has been sanctioned as bonus and advance for 26 contractual workers under the Primary Education Department (PM-Poshan),” said Dr. Saha.
