CM urges students and NSS volunteers to join 'Nesa Mukta Tripura' movement
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha made a heartfelt appeal on Monday, urging the students and NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers to actively participate in a significant initiative taken by the State Government to transform Tripura into a 'Nesa Mukta Tripura,'.
During the inaugural ceremony of 7 days NSS camp & Blood donation camp at Bani Vidyapith Girls’ HS school in Agartala, Chief Minister said that students and NSS volunteers should be all-rounder including in sports, education and serving for the country.
"Students have a very impressionable mind. They shape themselves based on their surroundings, which highlights the need for a healthy environment. The government is earnestly striving to create such an atmosphere, and smart classes have already been implemented in various schools across the state. Studying in these smart classes will undoubtedly benefit the students. Today's students are the future of our country, and Tripura boasts numerous NSS volunteers who have excelled at the national level and received awards. In addition to carving their own path, both students and NSS volunteers have a significant role to play in building a drug-free Tripura and India," said the Chief Minister.
Dr. Saha emphasized that the state government is dedicated to fostering a healthy atmosphere for students.
"However, some individuals are currently harming the environment and overall ambiance. I urge the students not to deviate from their path and work with a mindset that says 'You are the best in Tripura.' Our government has a zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, and students and NSS volunteers should stand united against the drug menace. NSS volunteers must actively collaborate with the government to help us achieve a drug-free Tripura," he added.
During the event, Dr Saha also highlighted the continuous efforts of both the central and state governments to empower women and improve their financial status.
"Strong women are essential for a stronger country and state. A society can't progress without their active participation. Thus, the central and state governments have launched various schemes for the comprehensive development of women," the Chief Minister stated.
Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumdar, Director of Education Department Chandni Chandran and other guests were present as distinguished guests in the event.
