The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday announced a series of programmes ahead of the upcoming Village Committee elections.
Addressing a press conference at Congress Bhavan in Agartala on Wednesday afternoon, Tripura Pradesh Congress in-charge and MP Saptagiri Ulaka and Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha said that the party has planned various programmes across different parts of the state in preparation for the upcoming Village Committee elections. They appealed to voters to support the Congress and said the party would continue its programmes to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level.
During the press conference, the Pradesh Congress leadership raised several allegations against the BJP-led government and Tipra Motha. They alleged that people across the state were facing various difficulties under the present government and claimed that the interests of the tribal population were not being adequately protected.
The Congress leaders further alleged that several promises made to the tribal people had not been fulfilled in practice. They also claimed that allegations of corruption, deprivation and attacks on ordinary people had contributed to public dissatisfaction in different parts of the state.
The Congress leadership said the party would continue to organize movements and programmes on issues concerning the public and would raise various demands and problems faced by people during the campaign for the upcoming Village Committee elections.
