Local sources said that residents spotted the body near the railway bridge and immediately informed the police. Acting on the information, personnel from the Belonia Government Railway Police (GRP) rushed to the spot and recovered the remains.

Preliminary suspicion suggests that the man may have died after being mowed down by a train, although the exact circumstances surrounding his death have not yet been established.

The body was found in a highly decomposed and mutilated condition, making identification difficult. The deceased is believed to be around 55 years old. Locals claimed that the man was reportedly a homeless person. However, his identity and address remain unknown.

The GRP personnel recovered the body and sent it to Belonia Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police have also initiated efforts to establish the deceased’s identity through various sources. An unnatural death case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the incident has once again raised concerns over railway safety near the Monurmukh railway bridge. According to local accounts, several people have reportedly lost their lives after being run over by trains at the same location in the past.
