Govt planning to set up a homeopathic college in Tripura: CM
The doctors and health workers have a role to play from the birth till death of a human being. That is why, they have an important role in ensuring health safety of every person of the society, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha after inaugurating State Level Orientation programme on Homeopathic health services of mother and child organized on Thursday at Rabindra Bhavan.
He said, the health services of the state have improved to quite an extent presently. The citizens of the state are now getting the opportunity of homeopathy, Ayurvedic and allopathic health services under one roof. The Chief Minister said, besides the doctors, general people also need to bring change in their lifestyle. A good lifestyle means less chance of diseases. It is to be noted that Ayush Community Health Officers also took part in the orientation programme. Chief Minister said that the state government is also planning to set up a Homeopathic college.
Doctors, health workers and ASHA workers were felicitated in the programme for their contribution in different fields in providing health services in the state. Apart from that, 5 retired homeopathy specialist doctors were felicitated in the programme for their achievement in homeopathic health services. They were all felicitated by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister also unveiled an awareness-based book cover on Thalassemia disease in the programme.
Health Secretary Dr. Debashish Basu and Director of Health department Dr. Subhashish Debbarma also spoke on the occasion. Medical Education Director Prof. (Dr.) H. P. Sharma was also present there. Welcome speech was delivered by Mission Director of National Health Mission Subhashish Das. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicines Dr. Supriya Mallik.
