Lt. General Kalita in Manipur, meets Governor, CM
Manipur (Imphal): Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Army's Eastern Command on Wednesday met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, Imphal and discussed the prevailing situation and security measures which are put in place to contain, prevent any violent and major untoward incidents in Manipur.
During the meeting the Army Chief of Eastern Command also discussed the steps taken up to restore normalcy at the earliest.
Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey while sharing her suggestions for restoring peace in the state to the Army Chief, further instructed the General to safeguard the lives of the people and bring the prevailing situation of the state to normalcy.
Later, Lieutenant General Kalita also met Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and discussed the current security scenario in the state and various aspects related to strengthening cooperation and ensuring security for the people of the state.
The same day, IPS Probationers of 2021 and 2022 Batch - Abhinav, Dharmendra Kumar, Gaurav Dogra and Prakhar Pandey also met Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan.
The Manipur Governor extending her warm welcome to the visiting IPS officers also wished them to execute their duty diligently in the interest of the countrymen and to work for the welfare of the country.
In light of the prevailing situation in the state, the Governor has also informed them about the various initiatives taken up by her office to bring amicable solutions between both the communities in conflict. She also advised the IPS probationers to understand the present situation of the state.
