Massive preparations for PM Modi’s mega election rally in Agartala completes
In the last day of vocal campaign for West Tripura parliamentary constituency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a mega election rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on Wednesday afternoon, the last day of the campaign for the first phase of 7-phase Lok Sabha election.
Addressing a press conference at BJP’s state headquarters in Agartala on Tuesday afternoon, spokesman Subrata Chakraborty said that Prime Minister Modi would address a mega election rally at Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on Wednesday afternoon at 1 PM, the last date of campaigning for the first phase of the of 7-phase Lok Sabha elections on April 19.
He said that the Prime Minister will come to Tripura on Wednesday after campaigning in Assam and appealing to the people of the state to join the mega election rally of the PM, which would be historic.
He said that all the preparations for the mega election rally have been completed and all rank and files of the BJP are now ready to welcome the Prime Minister. Chakraborty also strongly slammed both oppositions CPI(M) and Congress for their ‘unholy’ nexus and has also claimed their poll manifesto is a part of their ‘anti-India’ agenda.
Meanwhile, elaborate security arrangements have been made in state capital city Agartala and its outskirts in view of the Prime Minister’s visit.
The West Tripura district administration has also declared a ‘no-fly zone’ and ‘red zone’ over the entire city and its outskirts.
West Tripura District Magistrate (DM) and Returning Officer (RO) of West Tripura PC , Dr Vishal Kumar in a notification has banned the flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles within the jurisdiction of Agartala and its outskirts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
“If anyone violates the order, he or she would be punished under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code,” the notification stated. Restrictions of traffic in the city and its outskirts have been put in place.
Biplab Kumar Deb, who is also BJP’s sitting Rajya Sabha member is contesting in the Tripura West Lok Sabha seat against Tripura state Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, who is a consensus nominee of the INDIA Bloc. In all nine candidates are contesting in the Tripura West parliamentary constituency.
Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Monday addressed an election rally in northern Tripura’s Kumarghat covering Tripura East Lok Sabha seat, where the main contest will be witnessed between BJP’s Kriti Singh Debbarma and CPI(M)’s Rajendra Reang. Reang is the consensus candidate of INDIA Bloc.
Tripura West Lok Sabha seat will go to the polls on April 19 while voting will be held in Tripura East Lok Sabha constituency (ST) on April 26.
