New director assumes charge at C.S.U. Ekalavya Campus, Agartala
The Vice-Chancellor of Central Sanskrit University, Prof. Srinivasa Varakhedi, has appointed Prof. Makhlesh Kumaras the new Director of the Ekalavya Campus.
Prior to this, Prof. Makhlesh Kumar was serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Puranetihasa at the Sadashiva Campus, Puri (Odisha), under the same university. It is noteworthy that the former Director of the campus, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, has been transferred to Puri in the same capacity.
Prof. Kumar hails from Bhelaoji Buzurg, a village in the Siddharth Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh. He completed his entire education at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, where he earned both Acharya (M.A.) and Ph.D. degrees. Following this, he was appointed as a lecturer and later Principal at Ekrasanand Sanskrit College, Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, affiliated with the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan. After successfully discharging his duties there, he was appointed as Assistant Professor (Puranetihasa) at the Puri campus of the Sansthan. Later, he joined Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, New Delhi, as an Associate Professor. From there, he once again joined the Sadashiva Campus of the Central Sanskrit University, Puri, as a Professor in the Department of Puranetihasa, where he not only engaged in research and teaching but also capably handled various administrative responsibilities. In view of his experience and dedication, the university entrusted him with the responsibility of Director of the Ekalavya Campus.
Upon his arrival, Prof. Kumar was warmly welcomed and felicitated by the faculty, staff, and students of the campus with flower garlands and Vedic chants.
The arrival of the new Director has created a wave of enthusiasm throughout the Ekalavya Campus. Although everyone is currently busy preparing for the upcoming examinations starting from May 1, there is a clear sense of new hope and excitement among the staff & students in the campus.
