People should keep faith on generic medicines, CM
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Thursday appeals to the people of the state to keep their faith in generic medicines available in government hospital counters.
Chief Minister Dr Saha in a surprise visit to the IGM Hospital on Thursday visited the ‘Janaushadhi Kendra’, the generic medicine counter of IGM hospital and after reviewing the stocks of medicines, Dr Saha speaking with media persons said that the generic counter of the hospital have lots of stocks and doctors are also prescribed generic medicines.
He appeals to the people to keep the faith on generic medicines, which are affordable and same like any branded medicine.
He said that the government is working round the clock to make Tripura a model state of the country and the government has stressed its priority in the health sector.
After visiting the OPD clinic of the hospital, Dr Saha said that the infrastructure and services of the hospital has been developed, but there are some lapses, which will be rectified soon.
He also assured that all steps would be taken to ensure better healthcare facilities for the people of the state. Dr Saha had also interacted with the doctors and other staff of the hospital and reviewed the present environment of IPDs.
The number of doctors has been increased in the hospital and for emergency services, the IGM hospital has ambulances, said Dr Saha and added that the patients are now availing the ambulance facilities by dialing 102 instantly.
Dr Saha also recorded the problems of the hospital and instructed officials to take steps at the earliest to resolve the problems by developing the services.
During the surprise visit, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Health Secretary Dr Debasish Basu and Director of Health Services Dr Subhasish Debbarma and other top officials and senior doctors.
