Power supply commissioned at Teliamura Railway traction sub-station after Udaipur

Tripura’s railway services witnessed another milestone on Sunday with the commissioning of power supply at the Teliamura Railway Traction Sub-Station. Following Udaipur, Teliamura Railway Station has now been brought under the ambit of electrified train operations. The Teliamura Railway 1×21.6 MVA, 132/27 KV sub-station was successfully commissioned under the initiative of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL).
The commissioning ceremony was attended by TSECL Managing Director (MD) Biswajit Basu, Deputy General Manager Kamal Krishna Das, Senior Manager Er. Utpal Kar, Manager Er. Biswajit Biswas, along with Northeast Frontier Railway officials P.C. Meena, Kamal Kishore, and Swarup Kr. Saha. In their presence, the new sub-station was formally brought into operation.
Officials stated that the successful implementation of this project will significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of railway services in the state. Beyond facilitating smooth train operations, the project is also expected to strengthen power supply stability in Teliamura and its adjoining areas, benefiting both commuters and local residents.
The initiative is part of the Government of India’s broader mission to expand electrified railway connectivity across the country. With the gradual establishment of traction substations in Tripura, the region is expected to gain not only stronger transport infrastructure but also reduced operational costs and lower carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable environment.
The commissioning of the Teliamura sub-station marks yet another important step towards modernizing Tripura’s railway network, adding momentum to the state’s development journey and paving the way for a greener, more efficient transport system.
