Pradyot Kishore meets Home Minister Amit Shah, Motha may join ministry soon
Ending all speculations, the supremo of Tipra- Motha Pradyot Kishore Debbarma finally on Wednesday evening met the Union Home Minister Amit Saha at Delhi and held discussion over development of ADC.
According to sources both are positive in two core issues in the meeting including the interlocutor to discuss Pradyot’s ‘constitutional solution’ and the joining of Motha in the BJP government.
After the meeting Pradyot Kishore in a tweet message said,‘’Met the Home Minister of India this evening ! We had discussion on the indigenous people of Tripura and not politics because I am committed to our people and not post. Also AK Mishra arrives in Agartala from Manipur on the 12th of May and will meet all stakeholders.”
There is no official statement about the outcome of the meeting till late night but sources close to the parties said both the sides are reaching an understanding in which the Motha will get two ministerial berths. There is some question about allotting the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat to Motha in the coming election. It is learnt that the BJP is interested to retain the seat.
The developments indicate that today’s meeting was the outcome of long discussion between the two sides. Pradyot Kishore had earlier announced that AK Mishra has been appointed as interlocutor while the state government is totally in dark about it.
It may be recalled that only two days back Pradyot in a social media post had said some of his party leaders said to accept ‘whatever has given’’ and to leave the demand for ‘constitutional solution’’. Pradyot in his post had clearly ruled out the proposals of his party leaders and said his fights for the people and not for few leaders. Under However, everything will be cleared only after an official statement over the meeting.
Meanwhile, lots of speculation is going on over the possible ministers from TIPRA Motha. According to the party sources Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma are the frontrunners for two ministerial positions but there are some other considerations including representation of all sections.
