Soon after announcement of “fast unto death” programme to fulfill the demand for constitutional solution, the supremo and founder of Tipra-Motha, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma , who was summoned to New Delhi for talks, has returned to state capital on Monday night and claimed till written assurance from government, he will continue their hunger strike from February 28 at Hataikotor (Baramura).

After landing at Agartala, Pradyot speaking with media persons said that he went to New Delhi after getting an invitation from the Government of India over their discussion to fulfill the demand for a constitutional solution.

He said that authorities of the government had told him that they are thinking over their demands, but Tipra-Motha is not satisfied with the verbal commitment of the government of India.

He said they are fighting and waiting for the past one year to get written assurance over the demand for a constitutional solution of ‘Greater Tipraland’ for socio-economic development of all indigenous people of Tripura.

“Our fight is not about an individual or any party, this was, is, and shall always be about our people, our community,” said Pradyot and added that he will join the fast-unto-death at Baramura from February 28 till they are getting justice for indigenous people.

He also requested his party workers to join their hunger strike without any flag of Tipra-Motha and they will all join the hunger strike agitation as people of Tripura by maintaining ‘Thansa’ (unity) among all indigenous people.
