Pradyot stand with ‘greater Tipraland’ demand, denied for any pre-poll alliance
The royal scion and supremo of Tipra-Motha, Pradyot Kishore once again reiterated that Motha will not forge any electoral alliance with any political party before assembly elections until a written assurance on 'greater Tipraland' is given to his party.
“During 75 years of country’s independence, no regional party of the state able to serve the purpose of indigenous population and this time, a regional party will form the state government to fulfill the dreams of ‘greater Tipraland’,” said Pradyot and added that if the parties like TMC in West Bengal, Biju Janata Dal in Orissa, TRS in Telangana formed the government of regional parties, then why not Tipra-Motha will able to form government in Tripura.
While, during a joining programme, altogether 200 voters from 145 families and supporters of BJP, CPI(M) and Congress on Tuesday joined Tripura Citizens Federation, a front organization of ‘Tipra Motha’ held at ‘Ujjayanta palace in Agartala on Tuesday afternoon and Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore welcome them.
Among new supporters of Motha, the late CPI(M) stalwart Anil Sarkar’s son Abhijit Sarkar and leaders of CPI(M), Congress and ruling BJP like Tapan Sinha,Ramu Banik, Abhijit Das, Rajib Gope , Jahir Ali, Biswajit Deb, Uttam Sarkar and Basana Chakraborty et al.
After the joining programme, Pradyot Kishore speaking with media persons said that the national parties in Delhi had dialogues with arms rebels, but they are not interested to talk to a regional party, which are only demanding the protection of their constitutional rights, said Pradyot and added that the people from Delhi cannot dictate us.
He alleged that due Delhi leadership's ‘Jhumla’ assurance, the people of the state have lost their self-respect, but now Tripura has changed and people of the state know well how to get their constitutional rights.
“We are all united and we want to tell Delhi leaders that you have done lots of ‘Jhumlabazi’ and now no dictatorship will be allowed in Tripura,” said Pradyot.
He said that he always remembers the contribution of Nripen Chakraborty, Anil Sarkar, Sudhir Ranjan Majumder and leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He said that they are planning to file candidates in 40 to 42 seats and will ticket other communities including tribal. He assured that Tipra-Motha will never be a vote-cutter party to facilitate the BJP victory in the upcoming election and they will put up candidates in constituencies where Motha have a real chance of winning.
The statements made by Pradyot in the press conference revealed that there are no seat adjustments with opposition CPI (M) and Congress or pre-poll alliance. "We are here to win and we are also here to ensure there is no split in votes and will ensure that wrong elements should be defeated," said Pradyot.
He reiterated that they want greater Tipraland under article of constitution and if the government of India has a better idea, then they should inform us and give us written assurance.
Referring to the NC Debbarma deal with Narendar Modi over Tipraland, Pradyot said what had happened in the last five years people know very well the commitment was given verbally. He also said that so far he did not receive any reply from IPFT as a few days ago he appealed to the IPFT leaders to merge with Motha for a united fight.
He said that their core issue is ‘greater Tipraland’ and they will not compromise with their core issue.
He also strongly condemned the destruction of the highland in ‘Mata Tripura Sundari’ temple for setting up shops and said that even the intruders cannot do this in the most spiritual place of Tripura; they did in the last five years. Hinting BJP , Pradyot said that you cannot empower an entire tribal community by empowering a single person and now people of the state have understood their lollipop politics.
