President Murmu to visit Tripura on Oct 12
The President Droupadi Murmu will visit Tripura for two days from October 12 and will inaugurate a number of developmental projects in the state.
Official sources said that the tour schedules of the President have been finalized and during the visit the President will inaugurate the Tripura Judicial Academy at Narsingarh and will also participate in the 75th anniversary celebration of MBB College. On October 13 next, she will visit Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur to offer prayers.
Sources added that Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) will give her civic reception at Agartala Town Hall in presence of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha along with his cabinet colleagues.
During a programme at the hall number-1 of Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, the President will virtually inaugurate and lay the foundation of various projects. On October 13, the President will flag off trains from Agartala railway station.
Sources added that the DGP Amitabh Ranjan held a high-level meeting on security arrangements for the President's proposed visit and top administrative officials had also attended a preparatory meeting for the President's visit and to finalize the receiving details of the tour programme as per the protocol.
Sources also said that the tour programme has been finalized and security measures are being taken as per the tour schedule of the President. After being elected as President, this will be her first visit to Tripura as President.
It may be recalled here that on July 5th last, the NDA Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu arrived in the state capital to seek support for the July 18 Presidential election and had met all the MPs and legislators of ruling BJP and its alliance partner IPFT.
