Prime Minister Modi to attend swearing in ceremony of new BJP govt in Agartala on March 8
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda will attend the grand swearing-in-ceremony of the new BJP-IPFT government on March 8th next.
Addressing a press conference here at the election office of the BJP, state president Rajib Bhattacharjee said that the swearing-in-ceremony of the new ministry will be held at Vivekananda stadium in Agartala, where the Prime Minister will attend the ceremony.
Many top leaders of the party including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party’s national president JP Nadda will remain present. He said that they will inform the media on Monday over the arrival of many top leaders and ministers, who will attend the swearing ceremony.
It may be recalled here that in the recently concluded Tripura Assembly elections, the BJP won 32 seats in the 60-member Assembly while its ally IPFT won one seat.
Chief Secretary J K Sinha is holding a meeting with senior officials regarding the Prime Minister's visit to the state. An SPG team also arrived in the state capital on Saturday.
Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday tendered the resignation of his government to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya. He had told journalists that the new government will take oath on March 8 and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the event.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is the chairman of NEDA, has also arrived in Agartala on Saturday and will attend a series of meetings with other top leaders of the party to select the leaders of BJP legislative party. Besides, senior party leaders and chief ministers of BJP ruled states will also be invited to witness the swearing-in ceremony of the new government. BJP state in-charge Mahesh Sarma and election in-charge Mahendra Singh are also in the state after announcement of poll results.
