Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: CM emphasizes Vallabhbhai Patel’s spirit of unity for India's progress
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s spirit of unity will continue to inspire everyone to reach greater heights.
Dr Saha said while attending the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas at A.D. Nagar police ground, commemorating the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He also administered the pledge of unity and integrity to the police and force personnel who participated in the parade.
“Every year, we celebrate this day as the birth anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel, known as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. He is revered as the Iron Man of India, having played a key role in uniting 562 princely states with the Union of India after independence, especially from 1947-1949. This was made possible by his strong-mindedness and decisive action,” he said.
Dr. Saha mentioned that Rashtriya Ekta Diwas has been observed across the country since 2014.
“The primary objective is to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. In his honor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated 'Run For Unity' in 2014, which was also held today in Agartala. The main agenda is to build a more powerful and prosperous India,” stated Dr. Saha.
During the program, Director General of Police, Amitabha Ranjan, and other senior officials were present.
