RSS chief arrives Agartala, to attend training programme of ‘Karyakartas’ of NE
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat arrived Agartala on Thursday afternoon for six days and attend a series of events, including a training programme.
RSS Sources said that Bhagwat would stay in “Seva Dham” in west Tripura’s Khayerpur, at the outskirts of Agartala and would attend a series of events before departing from the state on May 28.
“A 20-day long training programme is now going on in “Seva Dham” since May 18. In all 154 RSS Karyakartas (functionaries) from eight northeastern states including Sikkim took part in the training programme,” a RSS Karyakarta told.
The RSS Sarsanghchalak would give teaching to the 'Karyakartas' in the training programme, where some RSS Pracharaks from the northeastern states also took part.
Political observers felt that Bhagwat's visit to the northeastern state ahead of the counting of Lok Sabha votes on June 4 is significant as the RSS has been expanding its bases in the northeastern states.
There are many non-political organisations associated with the RSS that are active in the mountainous region.
Security has been further tightened in the Khayerpur Seva Dham areas in west Tripura in view of the visit of RSS chief.
