Secular democratic forces to organize mass rally with tricolor on Jan 21st, seat adjustment will finalize soon, hopes for joining of Motha
The opposition Left Front and Congress by forming “Secular Democratic Forces” will organize a mass rally and will submit a deputation before the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Tripura to ensure violence free elections.
While, after first round of meeting among the leaders Left Front and Congress at the official residence of Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman on Thursday morning for seat adjustment, all leaders along with Tripura Peoples Front (TPF) leader Pravin Singh addressed a joint press conference at Agartala press club and claimed that the formation of secular democratic forces and idea behind the united face of all secular political parties are being endorsed by Tipra-Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma.
Speaking in the press meeting CPI(M) state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury said that Pradyot Kishore is not available in the state and at present he is in New Delhi for the registration of his party and he also expressed his great hope for united fight against fascistic forces of the state to restore democracy.
“Now, all democratic forces of the state come together and we want an alliance among people of the state to ensure the defeat of BJP in the coming elections,” said Chowdhury.
A suffocating environment prevails across the state since past five years and all elections held in the state in the same period were vitiated by the ruling party and they made all elections into a farce, said Chowdhury.
He said that soon after announcement of poll schedules, ruling BJP has intensified their violence across the state and asked the ECI, where is their zero poll violence promise. “We with much concern and panic noticing that ruling are now very much enthusiastic to violate and challenge the ECIU appeals and they are continuing their violent politics,” said Chwodhury and appealed to the ECI to ensure the democratic rights of opposition parties to participate in the election process.
He also hoped that Tipra-Motha would do its best to ensure the defeat of BJP and for restoration of democracy in Tripura.
Jitendra Chowdhury, over the demand of ‘greater Tipraland’ demand, said that the constitutional demand of upliftment of the society, all parties share the same sentiments. He said that if the greater Tipraland speaks for the development and upliftment and for justice , all parties also support , but not for bifurcation of the state as it is geographically cannot possible.
Over the written assurance of Pradyot Kishore’s demand , he said that the Left Front in its poll manifesto will declare the maximum autonomy and rights within the framework of constitution and they do agree with that demand and as the poll manifesto is the powerful document for assurance instead of giving one to one written assurance.
Speaking in the press meet Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman said that every party will work out a manifesto for its own commitments, but there will be a common minimum programme and joint declaration on ‘Secular Democratic Forces’, which will show the path for future for all secular political parties.
Sudip also agree that the statements of ruling party, both CPI(M) and Congress are against of each other and claimed that there were murders in both Congress-TUJS coalition and Left Front governments, but now the present situation turns to dreaded face even the state police headquarters from their official website has removed the data on crime figures as these are now reached as its peak during last five years.
The atrocities and violence on people has already passed all previous records and now the BJP government is trying to hide their misdeeds, said Sudip and added that BJP are passing their days without sleep after the alliance of Congress and Left parties.
“We are happy that all rank and file of both Congress and CPI(M) are very much hopeful along with the state's people for the alliance to ensure the defeat of BJP,” said Sudip. He appealed to the police to discharge their constitutional duties to save the constitution and democracy.
Over a question on the statement of Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha over allegations of Congress for violence, Sudip said that CM is a non-political man and they are not impulsive to give an answer over his statement.
‘My vote , my rights’ is the motto of all democratic forces and this time the Election Commission of India (ECI) has to ensure the democratic rights of the state's people, said Sudip. He also said that without any party colour, they want to ensure the protection of voting rights and appealed to the people of the state to join the mass rally on January 21st.
Jitendra Chowdhury also appealed to supporters of BJP, who are unable to take breath properly due to misrule of BJP and should come together and join their rally.
He said that discussions are going on for seat adjustment among Left Front and Congress and they are very much hopeful that Tipra-Motha will also join the secular democratic forces.
On January 21st all secular and democratic political parties without their respective flags, but bearing only national flags, will organize a mass rally and will submit a deputation before the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura to ensure zero poll violence, said Pradesh Congress president Birajit Sinha.
