SHGs playing key role in making women of urban and rural self-reliance: CM
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha on Wednesday said that Self Help Groups are playing a crucial role in enabling women from both urban and rural areas to become self-reliant by taking advantage of various government schemes.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken various initiatives to empower women across the country, with an aim to make them Swanirbhar. The mothers and sisters of our state have also received the benefits of such initiatives. A good number of women from urban and rural areas have become self-reliant by availing benefits of various schemes & set examples before the society. The Self Help Groups are playing an important role in this regard”, said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha on Wednesday addressed a Labharthi Parivar Mahasammelan organized by Tripura Urban Livelihoods Mission at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala.
The Chief Minister said that the primary focus of the state government is to extend the benefits of development projects to the people living in the most marginalized areas.
“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash, Sabka Viswas, and Sabka Prayas are the driving forces behind the current government's initiatives. The government has placed utmost importance on the socio-economic upliftment of the state's residents. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is actively realizing the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay to ensure the benefits of development reach every person in society. The state government is continuously working to enhance the socio-economic conditions of the people under the guidance of the Prime Minister,” said Dr Saha.
During the program Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder, Urban Development Department Director Rajat Panth, Additional Municipal Commissioner Mohammad Sajad P and State Level Bankers Committee Convener Bikash Das were present.
