Special anti-drug drive: 245 arrested, 50 NDPS cases, seized drugs worth of Rs. 2.6 cr
Tripura police as part of its ‘Nesha Mukt Tripura’ drive has organized a seven days long ‘Anti-narcotics special drive’ across the state and achieved significant success by arresting 245 drug paddlers and smugglers involved in the drug network.
Police sources said that the 7-days long special drive, which ended on April 25, has seized different contraband items and drugs worth Rs. 2.6 crore. Police have also registered 50 cases under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act) and altogether 245 drug paddlers and smugglers were arrested.
Police added that during a seven days special drive, the state police had conducted search operations over 53,000 vehicles and organized 375 awareness campaigns in different parts of the state.
