The Special National Integration Camp (SNIC-I), Agartala 2026-27, organised by the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, commenced on October 1 at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel here.

The 12-day camp, being held from October 1 to 12, has brought together NCC cadets from different parts of the country with the objective of promoting national integration, cultural exchange, training and youth leadership.

The formal opening ceremony was held on October 2 (Friday), with Brigadier Nishant Chandel, Commander, HQ 21 Sector Assam Rifles, addressing the cadets. He emphasised the importance of national integration, discipline and unity while respecting the diversity of India.

Brig Chandel encouraged the cadets to learn from one another and carry forward the values of unity, discipline and mutual respect.

Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu also graced the occasion and shared his personal experiences as an NCC cadet in the 1960s. Recalling his association with the NCC, he said the organisation played an important role in shaping discipline, confidence and a sense of responsibility.

The camp features a range of activities, including training sessions, sports competitions, adventure sports and skill-development programmes. The cadets will also visit several important tourist and heritage destinations in Tripura, including Neermahal, Mata Bari Temple, Sepahijala Zoo, Ujjayanta Palace, Albert Ekka Heritage Park and Agartala Science City.

Cultural programmes presented by the participating cadets will further showcase India's rich cultural diversity and reinforce the spirit of “Unity in Diversity”.

The camp seeks to strengthen the NCC motto of “Unity and Discipline” by providing cadets with a platform to appreciate India's diversity while developing qualities essential for responsible citizenship and nation-building.
