State Cabinet: Salaries for Home Guards, ASHA, mid-day-meal workers hiked
After a long cabinet meeting and observance of two minutes silence, the cabinet on Tuesday has taken a number of good decisions with enhancement of salaries and honorarium for different department workers and has also created many new posts.
Addressing a press conference here at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday evening, Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the by abolishing the long deprivation of Home Guard volunteers under Home department, soon after formation of present state government has hiked their salaries and recently announced their dress allowances.
Now, the state cabinet has decided to enhance their monthly pension from existing Rs. 750 to Rs. 2500 per month, said Chowdhury. The government has also hiked the monthly salaries of Home guards from Rs. 18,140 to Rs. 19,140.
He also said that the cabinet has created 34 posts for Tripura Judicial Academy, Narsingarh including private secretary, officer superintendent (OS) and other posts and after approval from the Finance department, the recruitment process will begin.
For the smooth functioning of the Election department of the state government, 16 posts for Election Inspectors, group-C will also be filled up through Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), said Chowdhury.
While, in another significant decision, the cabinet has decided to hike the daily allowance of boarding house inmates under Tribal Welfare department from Rs. 65 to 80 per day, which will give benefits to around 31,000 boarding house inmates, said Chowdhury and added that similar decision for hike of daily allowances will also be applicable for boarding house inmates under Scheduled Caste Welfare department.
The cabinet has also decided to hike the honorarium for cook cum helper(mid-day-meal) from Rs.1500 to Rs. 2500 and has also hiked the monthly salaries of pump operators including the pump operators posted in different iron removal plants.
Meanwhile, in addition of existing 100 Vidyajyoti schools functioning across the state, the government has decided to start 25 new Vidyajyoti schools in all eight districts of the state, said Chowdhury and added that the cabinet has also decided and created 32 new posts for teaching and non-teaching staff from MBB University for expansion of higher education.
The cabinet of Tuesday has also released a government job offer letter for five persons under die-in-harness cases for the family person’s political violence victims, said Chowdhury.
He also said that the ambitious Agartala Science City will be inaugurated on Wednesday and the cabinet has fixed the entry fees and has decided entry for general people will be Rs. 30 per person and Rs. 20 for school students. If any group of students with approval from their school headmasters or from principal will get the entry ticket with Rs. 10 per person in group.
Similarly, the entry ticket for 3D theatre will also be Rs. 30 per person and Rs. 20 for school students, said Chowdhury. In another significant decision by bifurcation of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) , the cabinet has formed the Tripura Power Transmission Company Limited for transmission and opening of new power transmission line up to 33 kv.
