Tipra-Motha showed strength for ‘greater Tipraland’ in Agartala
The Mega Gathering organized by Tipra-Motha in the Swami Vivekananda Maidan has witnessed a massive crowd with full discipline and its chairman and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma heavily criticised the ruling BJP, opposition CPI(M). Since formation of Tipra-Motha, the regional party in its mega gathering on Saturday has also shown the strength before ensuing Assembly elections in Tripura to achieve their dream for ‘Greater Tipraland’.
After addressing the large gathering by its leaders like president Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl, chairman of ADC Jagadish Debbarma, deputy CEM Animash Debbarma, legendary footballer Baichung Bhutia, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the regional party's founder and chairman in his attacking speech urged all indigenous people of the state to give a united fight to achieve the dreams for ‘Greater Tipraland’ after 2023 assembly elections.
Pradyot said that the indigenous people of Tripura would want to remind "people in Delhi" about their long-standing demand.
"Tiprasa people have gathered in large numbers at Vivekananda Ground to apprise Delhi people of their constitutional demands and Delhi will have to pay attention and accept our voice," the scion of erstwhile royal family said.
After passing of 75th years of Independence, still the indigenous people of the state are being deprived from their basic rights and are leaving lives of poverty without any facilities for education, health and land rights, said Pradyot and added that the kings of the state had ruled for 1000 years, now their people are bagging for their rights, because the national political parties always taking the advantages of divided face of indigenous people.
“They are still trying rule our people because of ‘Thansa’ (unity) and when are be united, no people can deprive from our basic rights,” said Pradyot Kishore and added that after change of regime nothing change only flags have been changed, but the people of are the same who are depriving tribal population for decades.
Through his scathing attacks over the 55 months rule of BJP government in Tripura, Pradyot Kishore said that they deprived people through their false and fake promises and asked where the job is by giving missed calls, wages of MGNREGA of Rs. 300 and state council for ADC etc.
‘No rules of law prevail in the state, everywhere is violent politics and rape like incidents and they destroy the democratic spirit’, alleged Pradyot.
He said that Bubagra is fighting only to protect the democratic rights of 13 lakh indigenous people of the state and continue their fight for ‘greater Tipraland’ till their last breath.
Mentioning a luring proposal from other political parties for pre-poll alliance, Pradyot reiterated that there will be no poll alliance till their constitutional rights are not being preserved.
Highlighting the propaganda against him by the ruling party and others, Pradyot mentioning the centuries long tradition of Manikya dynasty said that his forefathers always promoted the coexistence of all religions and communities and people are spreading only false narratives against him to divide the ‘Thansa’.
“I do not want to be Minister, MP or any other political post to lead a luxurious life, but I am here to fight for our people for our democratic rights,”, said Pradyot and alleged that ruling classes will try to purchase their leaders and warned if any leader switch over to any other political parties destroying unity of indigenous people, then ‘Dofa’ (community) will spare them.
Highlighting the mutual co-existence of all communities in ADC areas of the state, Pradyot said that after the formation council in ADC by Tipra-Motha there is no instance that any Bengali family was attacked or any other violence activities held.
He said that he cannot give thousands of crore money like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but assured people that will give them rights of land by providing them land ‘Patta’ after the Motha government in 2023.
Pradyot Kishore, urging the people, said that only two months left for assembly elections and should be ready for united fight to protect their democratic rights.
He also said that all 20 communities of the tribe will unite to fight for ‘greater Tipraland’ and will show the strength of Tiprasa in 2023 assembly elections and will strengthen their movements. He also challenged other political parties and they will not be purchasable and if any one tries to kill him, all Tiprasa people will protect him.
It may be recalled here that Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Motha , floated in 2021, seeks a separate state of ‘Greater Tipraland' for the indigenous people of Tripura and the party made a stunning electoral debut last year as it won the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council elections, bagging 16 of 28 seats.
