Tripura Govt hikes dress allowance, ration money for police, TSR, 253 new recruitments
In a significant decision, Tripura cabinet on Tuesday hiked the dress allowances and rations money for both police and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and has also announced to fill 253 vacant posts in different departments.
Addressing a press conference at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon after the cabinet meeting, Transport and Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said that the annual dress allowance for police personnel has been hiked from Rs.7500 to Rs. 9500 and has also increased their ration money from existing Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000.
Similarly, the dress allowance for TSR has been hiked from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 12,000 and ration money from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 2000.
He said that the government before the Diwali festival announced the hike of dress allowance and ration for TSR, which has been approved by today’s cabinet meeting. At present, Tripura has a total of 21,794 police and TSR personnel, said Chowdhury.
He also said that the cabinet has decided to recruit 125 physical education teachers under the School Education department and 75 more junior physical instructors under the Sports and Youth Affairs department. As per the cabinet decisions, the state government will also recruit 53 Fishery officers under the Fishery department, said Chowdhury.
