Tripura Sports Climbing Association reinvigorates adventure sports initiatives
In a landmark move to boost adventure sports and align with the Chief Minister’s Dr Manik Saha vision for sports development in Tripura, the Tripura Sports Climbing Association (TSCA) has undertaken a comprehensive initiative to revamp the non-functional adventure association. The initiative is set to reignite the spirit of adventure sports across the state, ensuring access to quality equipment and facilities.
The President of the association, Khokhan Ch Paul along with his team has taken a proactive approach by contacting various agencies across the state for assistance in terms of funds and equipment for training the youth in various adventure activities at existing sports infrastructure at Badharghat Sports Complex at Agartala.
The team has been supported by Assam Rifles by providing certain mountaineering equipment, thus guaranteeing that enthusiasts and athletes alike will have the best gear for their pursuits. The President of TSCA expressed his gratitude to Assam Rifles and all the agencies for their generous gesture, and said that the equipment will be used to train and organize rock craft sports activities and events for the youth of Tripura. He said that the association is dedicated to provide a diverse range of activities to include rock climbing, swimming, cycling, and slithering, that would cater to all levels of thrill-seekers. He urged the youth of Tripura and North East India to stay away from drugs and violence, and to channel their energy and potential towards constructive and positive pursuits, such as sports and education.
This initiative also serves to promote the Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha’s agenda for sports in the state, which emphasizes sports as a pivotal solution to combat youth drug addiction and encourage a healthy lifestyle. The revival of the adventure association is a testament to Tripura’s dedication to becoming a hub for sports and adventure tourism, contributing to the state’s economic and social development. The association has invited all adventure sports enthusiasts to partake in the upcoming activities and events that are sure to invigorate the state’s sports culture.
