The 2nd Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) celebrated its 36th Raising Day on Saturday by organising a voluntary blood donation camp at its headquarters in Wazirabad, Delhi.

The occasion also paid tribute to the 16 martyrs of the battalion who laid down their lives while fighting extremists in the service of the nation.

According to the battalion, a total of 2,222 personnel have voluntarily donated blood over the years. Between 2024 and 2026, 37 personnel donated blood in Delhi for the benefit of society and fellow jawans.

This year, 92 people voluntarily donated blood during the camp, including two Inspectors, three Sub-Inspectors, 86 other ranks and one family member of a jawan.

The blood donation camp was conducted by a medical team from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi, led by Dr. Ram Krishna and Dr. Surender Vats, along with 16 hospital staff members.

Commandant Asish Debnath inaugurated the blood donation camp at the 2nd Battalion TSR Headquarters, Police Training School (PTS), Wazirabad, Delhi, on September 19. Several senior officers of the battalion were also present on the occasion.
