TSR moving ahead with excellence in duties & social responsibilities, DGP

The elite Tripura State Rifles (TSR), known for their discipline and operational excellence, not only perform general security duties but also engage in Civic Action Programs (CAPs) and on Friday, the jawans and officers of 12th battalion donates their blood units and has also extend their helping hands towards local villagers by providing them winter clothes and school bags to poor students at Ramchandraghat area under Khowai district.
During the civic action programme, DGP Amitabh Ranjan, DIG Sanjoy Roy, commandant of TSR 12th battalion, Ratnadip Das and SP (Khowai) Ramesh Yadav distributed winter clothes and school bangs among their local villagers.
While speaking in the programme, DGP Amitabh Ranjan said that these programs are aimed at strengthening the bond between the force and the local communities, promoting goodwill, and addressing developmental and social needs in the region.
He said that TSR is moving forward, which has played a tremendous role to curb insurgency from the soil of Tripura and has also played an excellent role for maintaining law and order situation across the state along with police forces. “Tripura among the first states of the country to get President Colour and undertake different initiatives for community development,” said Ranjan.
The forces are also undertaking initiatives like building roads, schools, and healthcare facilities, organizing sports events, vocational training, and skill development programs for local youth and for public awareness and also conducting campaigns on health, education, hygiene, and environmental conservation.
Such programs foster a sense of trust and partnership between the public and the TSR and forces provide much-needed support to underdeveloped or conflict-prone areas, said DGP.
He also praised the forces and said that engaging positively with the community, TSR contributes to peace and stability in Tripura.
