Two rival group clash at Bishalgarh, one dead, eight seriously injured

In a midnight clash between two rival groups at Ghaniamara area of Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district , one person was killed and at least eight others including a child sustained critical injuries.
Sources said that the confrontation among two rival groups began after a verbal altercation between youths from Uttar Mura and South Durganagar areas of Bishalgarh during a social gathering at Ghaniamara village on Thursday midnight and after pitch-battle and brutal physical fight among two groups, tension escalated in the entire area.
Sources said that during the clash, members of both groups were armed with sharp weapons and they indiscriminately attacked each other.
Amidst the chaos, one Tofazzal Hossain, a resident of South Durganagar, was found unconscious and severely bleeding on the road. His family members rushed to rescue him and attempted to transport him to the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital.
However, panic rose when the vehicle carrying him allegedly tried to speed through the crowd, which escalated violence among the groups’ members.
Suddenly, the confrontation among the rival groups intensified, leading to injuries to many people including a child.
Later, villagers after refusing the tension, they one after one shifted all injured persons to Bishalgarh hospital and among all injured eight persons, four injured persons were referred to GB Hospital in the midnight in critical condition .
Police sources said that after the massive clash, a large number of security forces were deployed at Ghaniamara village to control the situation.
Sources added that one of the injured, Bacchu Miah also known as Rajjaq Miah succumbed to his injuries, who was allegedly struck by the vehicle during the fight.
Police added that a formal complaint lodged by his brother-in-law, police registered an FIR and have started investigation to identify all suspected accused persons and have also raided multiple locations to arrest all accused persons.
