A pall of gloom descended on Tufania Lunga tea garden area under Airport police station of West Tripura district after a two-year-old boy died following a head injury that his family alleges went unreported due to the negligence of another child's parent.

The deceased, identified as Akash Tanti, was the son of Bijay Tanti, a resident of the tea garden. According to family members, Akash was playing with neighbouring children when another child allegedly pushed him, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain a head injury.

The family alleged that although the other child's mother was present at the scene, she did not inform them about the incident. As a result, they remained unaware of the seriousness of the injury and could not seek immediate medical treatment.

When the family eventually learnt about the incident, Akash was taken to hospital for treatment. However, after battling for nearly 16 days, the toddler succumbed to his injuries.

The tragic death has left the entire locality in mourning, with grieving family members and residents expressing shock over the loss of the young child.

Speaking to the media, Akash's family demanded a fair investigation into the incident and sought appropriate legal action against those responsible, alleging that the delay in informing them about the injury contributed to the child's death.
