Union Budget aims to increase income of every family: CM
PM Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat reflected in union budget: CM
Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr Manik Saha on Monday said that the Union Budget has given importance to increasing the income of every family and improving the socio-economic condition of the people.
Dr Saha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thoughts for the welfare of the people have been evident in this year’s budget.
“Special importance has been given to developing infrastructure in the education sector. Special importance has been given to providing quality education in the budget,” he said.
Dr Saha said this at a press conference organized at the Padesh Party office of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday on issues related to the country’s General Budget.
Dr Saha said the main purpose of organizing the press conference here today is to inform all the people of Tripura about yesterday’s union budget through the media.
“Yesterday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the financial year 2026-27 , which we all saw on the TV screen. She has presented the budget for the ninth time. She gave a budget speech for about one hour and 25 minutes. And this budget is the 80th budget in Parliament,” he said.
Dr Saha said that he is very happy with this budget.
“The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a deadline for Viksit Bharat by 2047, this budget has a glimpse of it. This budget has reflected future economic progress, social development and future goals. For this, I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman,” said Dr Saha.
The Chief Minister said that special importance has been given to infrastructure development in this budget.
“Along with this, great emphasis has been placed on capital expenditure. This budget has given importance to future connectivity, logistics and urban development. The Union Finance Minister said in her speech that India’s economy is now very strong. Because the economy is strong, our country is now moving forward. The Prime Minister’s idea is to make India a developed country. That was clear in yesterday’s budget,” said Dr Saha.
Dr Saha said that the Prime Minister always mentions four categories — youth, farmers, the poor and women.
“This year’s budget has been made based on these four categories. The Prime Minister’s thinking for the welfare of the people has been evident in this year’s budget. The government is giving importance to farmers so that they get a fair price for their crops. Attention has also been paid to strengthening agricultural infrastructure. Health services have also been given importance so that all citizens can be provided with affordable health coverage. Emphasis has been given to mental health and trauma centres,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that special emphasis has been given in the budget to provide quality education (schools, colleges, technical colleges and various educational institutions).
“Special emphasis has been given to developing infrastructure in the education sector. Various projects have been taken up for the development of roads, railways, aviation and waterways. Many programmes have been taken up to strengthen the skill development of the youth. Emphasis has been placed on increasing the use of renewable energy. Steps are being taken to reduce pollution. In this budget, many concessions have been made in the tax system for the middle class. Various reforms have been brought in to provide improved services to taxpayers. A large amount of financial allocation has been made in this budget to further strengthen the defence sector,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that this budget has emphasized three main pillars.
“First, there is development up to the marginal level of society. In the second phase, there is infrastructure development. In the third phase, there is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. Along with this, priority has been given to six issues,” he said.
Former MP Rebati Tripura, Sepahijala District President Supriya Das Dutta and others were present.
