Union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar to embark on a two-day Tripura visit
Union Minister of state for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, will be visiting Agartala for two days, starting from Friday.
Official sources said that Chandrasekhar is slated to attend the launch of two Vishwakarma Centers in Tripura and will be participating in the "Samman of the Vishwakarma Gurus," which will felicitate teachers crucial to the ongoing Vishwakarma Yojana. This event will take place at Agartala Town Hall. The Minister will be launching skilling initiatives that aim to help over 48,000 young Indians from Tripura to acquire future-ready and industry-ready skills in the next three years.
The Minister is scheduled to interact with trainees and young Indians from the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in Agartala. This event will also comprise of the exchange of MoUs between IIE and NIT, TTADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council), and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) on skilling initiatives.
The Minister will also be launching training programs for 14,000 students under PMKVY 4.0 through IIE, the State Skill Department, North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation (NEHHDC), and North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC).
Earlier this month, Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar engaged in a similar mission along with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, where he inaugurated skill training centers under the PM Vishwakarma initiative in Goa.
Chandrasekhar will participate in the Kokborok Day Celebration with citizens in the afternoon. He will then travel to the Gandhigram water treatment plant to take stock of the progress in the Jal Jeevan Mission, where he will also interact with citizens. This interaction will take place at Purba Gandhigram Panchayat, Bamutia block in the West Tripura District.
On Day 2, the Minister will hold discussions with corporators of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, and he will address the young Indians from the region.
