Youth kidnapped from city for old rivalry, three accused arrested
The growing rivalry among a group of youths in Agartala led to a kidnapping of a youth, which created a sensation among city dwellers, but within 24-hours of the incident, the city police managed to arrest three suspected kidnapers on Sunday.
Giving details, officer-in-charge (OC) of West Agartala police station, Paritosh Das said that on Saturday evening, a group of 14 to 15 youths disputing old rivalry raided at Advisor Chowmuhani area of the city with motorbikes and car, they then kidnapped one Samir Das and take at a lonely place near Heritage park area.
Then, all of the group members severely beat Samir Das and left him with several injuries. After the incident, the family of the victim lodged a complaint at West Agartala police station and police have also registered a specific FIR under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), said Das.
He said that during investigation, police have identified three among all accused youths involved in the kidnapping and on Saturday they were arrested, identified as Abir Chakraborty, Ankadeep Lodh and Bishal Biswas, all are the residents of different areas of Agartala.
He said that all arrested youths were produced before a local court with police remand appeals for further interrogation to get details of the name of other miscreants involved in the incident.
